Law Centres have existed since the 1970s, defending legal rights of local people. Specialising in social welfare law, their staff have an in-depth knowledge of the issues communities face and the impact on people’s lives includes helping save homes, keep jobs and protect families.

Law Centres help people access the justice system by offering legal advice, casework and representation to individuals and groups. They also work towards long term improvements by influencing policy, and building knowledge in communities – reflected in the 3 objectives of Bristol Law Centre.

All Law Centres are independent, embedded in their communities and are run not-for-profit. Bristol Law Centre is a registered charity with local people acting as trustees. All our services are free to the client.
