Lhosa is qualified as a lawyer in both the UK and New York. She is currently deputy director at Spike Island; Chair of the Institute of Directors in Bristol; Vice Chair, Creative and Digital for the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership; and a South West representative for Engage, the National Association for Gallery Education. Lhosa originally studied Law at Manchester University before working for some of the world’s largest professional service organisations. These include: Andersen Legal in Manchester, Herbert Smith in London, Ernst & Young in New York and since returning to the UK in 2007, KPMG and Ernst and Young in Bristol. Lhosa has always been passionate about the arts and in April 2011 was appointed Head of Development at Turner Contemporary, Margate. There, amongst other things, she was responsible for the design and implementation of the fundraising strategy and helped raise in excess of £1.4m since the gallery opened. As deputy director at Spike Island, Lhosa has overall responsibility for areas including operations, commercial activity, finance and fundraising.
