Advocacy Volunteer; Legal Advocacy Support Project (LASP)

Closing date: Friday, 15th May 2026

Volunteer law students work with the Welfare Benefits team to run appeals to the First-tier Tribunal against decisions on Personal Independence Payment. This allows many people who have no statutory right to representation to exercise their right to challenge decisions made about them.

We require LASP volunteers to complete a 4-hour session per week for 40 out of the first 52 weeks of starting on the project in order to ensure clients receive continuity and support which is paramount to the success of the project. For the same reason we require volunteers to be available for 8 out of the 12 weeks from July to September 2026.
