Purpose of the job

To coordinate a major 3 year, project for the SW region to strengthen access to specialist immigration advice. This will be done by seeking to increase capacity, skills, development and collaboration among community-based advice providers. Bristol Law Centre is coordinating the project as lead partner working with 6 partners across the region.

Background

The SW of England has a lack of capacity and coordination around immigration advice provision. Development work in 2022 summarised the issues in the region and supported the specification of this project. (Read Report Here)

Bristol Law Centre (BLC) is the lead partner amongst GARAS, Harbour project, Bristol Refugee Rights, Plymouth Hope, Plymouth University, DCRS (Devon & Cornwall Refugee Support) and RSD (Refugee Support Devon).

In addition there were many other organisations involved in the development work, and these, plus others, will continue to be key stakeholders in the 3-year project. They are a mix of NGOs, advice providers, local authorities, funders, forums and networks.

This is an opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive team in a vibrant, artistic, historic and diverse city; surrounded by beautiful countryside at the gateway to South Wales and the South-West. Our modern offices are situated close to Bristol Temple Meads station and the city centre, and we are open to discussing a blend of home and office working.
